2023 Old Fat Bald Guys Tournament Raises $20,000 for Platoon 22
The 17th annual Old Fat Bald Guys Ice Hockey Summer Tournament successfully raised over $20,000 for Platoon 22! The tournament took place at Skate Frederick in Frederick, Maryland from July 14th-16th, 2023. The tournament was played again in memory of former OFBG member David Anthony “Tony” Johnson.

Platoon 22 is a Frederick, Maryland based non-profit that helps service veterans combat PTSD, and ultimately prevent these heroes from taking their own lives. The name Platoon 22 is symbolic of the estimated twenty-two U.S. service veterans who take their own lives every day due to PTSD. The monies raised at our tournament are specifically used to fund the Platoon Veterans Services Center in Frederick, a centralized hub where veterans can find job training, case management, and holistic support as they transition back to civilian life. In a partnership with Goodwill Industries, Platoon 22 is aiming to raise $2 million to cover the cost of the 22,000-square foot facility. The facility is opened in the Fall of 2022 and has been a great success for our community and our veterans! For more information please visit www.Platoon22.org.
